Why does my period start again after a two-day stop?

Asked 3 years ago

My period is very irregular, and now it seems to stop for two days and then start up again. Why is this happening?

Thyroid dysfunction, hyperprolactinemia, and polycystic ovarian syndrome can all induce hormonal imbalances and ovulation issues, which can lead to irregular vaginal bleeding. Two periods in a month can be caused by weight, stress, too much exercise, or weight changes. Period irregularities aren't necessarily a cause for alarm. Normal hormone variations during menstruation are commonly the cause of periods that stop and begin. If these irregularities occur every period or if other symptoms emerge, a person should contact a doctor or gynecologist.
