Which foods can you avoid to reduce the likelihood of endo belly gas?
Asked a year ago
My endometriosis has not gotten any easier to manage since my teen years. I struggle every month with endo belly- My belly becomes bloated, distended, gassy, and painful as I go through my period. I want to know if changing my diet and cutting out certain foods will help me feel less gassy. Can anyone advise if this is possible, and which foods I should be cutting out to feel less gassy?

Yes, it is possible to ease endo belly symptoms by changing your diet. Some of the foods to avoid include processed foods which are often high in sodium and transfats. Also avoid alcohol (limit yourself to 1-2 drinks weekly), caffeine, sugary drinks, and fatty meats. Switching to an anti-inflammatory diet rich in fiber, omega-3, zinc, and magnesium can help manage bloat and cramping. This means including fresh fruits and leafy vegetables, fatty fish, nuts, seeds and whole grains in your diet.
