How did you prepare for laparoscopic hysterectomy?

Hi, I have endometriosis and I'm scheduled to have a laparoscopic hysterectomy on Friday. What helped you to prepare for it and get through it? I'm also having a pre-surgery testing today. Do you know what can I expect to happen?

The best preparation is mental preparation. Read as much as you can about the subject, talk to others that have gone through it and ask your doctor any questions you might have. Post-surgery amenities can do you wonders, a full body pillow to help you sleep more comfortably, ice packs for your stomach and a heating pad for your back. During recovery, make sure to stay hydrated and rested. Walking a little bit every day helps relieve gas pressure and prevent blood clotting.
