Do high levels of stress hormones cause endo pain to flare up?
Asked a year ago
I have started a new job where I am working more hours and under high levels of pressure. As a result, I am a lot more stressed in everyday life. I have endometriosis, and I have become worried about how my elevated stress levels could affect my already very painful endo belly. Can I expect to experience increased endo pain due to higher levels of stress?

High levels of stress are known to aggravate endo pain and may make a painful endo belly worse. This can eventually take a toll on your physical and mental health. To prevent this, you need to manage your stress levels by changing your lifestyle. Things like getting enough sleep and watching your diet can bring relief. Consider taking an anti-inflammatory, high-fiber diet with plenty of fruits, vegetables, legumes, and whole grains and reduce your caffeine and alcohol intake to relieve your endo pain.
